KINGSWOOD Day Nursery - Alderholt

Ducklings | Robins | Kingfishers | Woodpeckers

Kingfisher Room 2 years 3 months – 3 Years 3 Months
Once the Robin children have grown and flown the nest their next landing is the Kingfisher room.

The children have oodles of space to express their freedom indulging in a vast range of learning situations and experiences whilst having fun indoors and out.

At this age your child is beginning to show independence and in order to promote this the room has been designed to enable them to explore, experiment and discover, indoors and out.  Children display many schematic behaviours at this age such as connecting and transporting and the environment has been designed to enrich these patterns of learning.

Children in the Kingfisher room socialise and work as a team or independently. Strong bonds and friendships begin to form. Children in the Kingfisher Room can still get tired because they are so busy at nursery. Sometimes story time is so cosy on the cushions and beanbags the children just cannot resist a snooze. We have a quiet sleep room where your child can sleep after lunch if you would like them too. Quiet time takes place between 12.15pm-1.30pm at KingsWood. If your child sleeps please provide pyjamas for them to snuggle into at sleep times.

If your child is potty training please do not worry about accidents at nursery these are not a problem, we have plenty of spare clothes!

KingsWood carries out 2 year progress checks on children when they are between 2 and 3 years old. This is a standard set by Ofsted and presents parents and/or carers with a short written summary of their child’s development in the prime areas.

KingsWood is now able to offer 2 year old funding for a limited number of places. Please follow the below link for details and eligibility. http://www.dorsetforyou.com/childcare-funding/aged-two
