KINGSWOOD Day Nursery - Alderholt

Forest School

You will not find anything quite like our sites........
Forest School is an inspirational process that offers children opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem, through hands on learning experiences in a Woodland environment. This approach is one that Ofsted seen as "outstanding" when they last visited.

Forest Schools originated in Europe in the early 20th century as a way of teaching about the natural world. By the 1980’s it became part of the Danish early years programme.

Forest School is a long term child-led educational process that promotes, observes and explicitly supports the social, emotional and physical development of children in a Woodland surrounding. All ages access forest school or nature nurture sessions at KingsWood. There is no other site like ours!
KingsWood is fortunate enough to have its own Forest School sites in our Woodland opposite the main nursery where children venture every day. On site there is so many inspirational resources and activities  such as fairy homes, rope swings, an army trench, a clay kitchen, a dragons nest and many, many shelters!

As a child I am sure most parents remember climbing trees, splashing in puddles or building a rope swing. At KingsWood we create these ever lasting memories for your children.

We recommend parents come and see this outstanding learning environment. Your child will not want to leave-actually most parents do not want to even leave!

Just some of the activities the children experience are making mud monsters, pond dipping, bush craft and bug hunts the list goes on and on!
We have Forest School leaders at KingsWood who have undergone extensive formal accredited training. We have been running these sessions for over 7 years, so we have oodles of experience and knowledge.
